On the field, Roger is a force to be reckoned with.  He is the personification of speed and power, effortlessly outrunning his opposition allowing him to set up and attack the goal with precision and accuracy.

Roger’s athleticism began its roots at an early age; from age six until fourteen, he received private soccer lessons, increasing his conditioning as well as maneuverability.  Throughout the years since, he has played on numerous club teams in conjunction with township and school affiliations – for a total of 5 years he undertook the task of being a multi team player, displaying his determination and willingness to learn at every available opportunity.  His club accolades include 3 appearances in the NJ State Cup Finals for three consecutive years.

First picking up a Lacrosse stick the summer after he completed the seventh grade, he immediately adapted his soccer talents and agility to the position of midfielder.  When watching him play, one of the first things you’ll notice about Roger is his athleticism and conditioning, never slowing down, or pacing himself to catch his breath.  Roger gives everything he has at every moment – the years of conditioning significantly stand out, making Roger a standout player, both in duration of his abilities to function at their peak, and in his raw speed across the field.

Roger has continued his passion for sports throughout high school, excelling in both soccer and lacrosse, finding himself a tri-captain of his soccer team for his 2008 season, and attending Top 205, Peak 200, NE 150 and the Gettysburg rendition of the Top Star gatherings for national players.

Throughout his most recent two years as a Lacrosse player, Roger has remained in the top 3 leading scorers for his team.  During his sophomore year, he lead his team with 75 ground balls – he also won over 60% of his face-offs, scored 15 goals and had 8 assists. His junior year saw an even further increase in performance, as he nearly doubled his assists with 15, picked up over 80 ground balls, scored 25 goals, and won just over 75% of his face-offs.  The pace is set for an incredible performance during his senior year, and with the amount of time Roger spends keeping himself conditioned and practiced during the off season, the sky is truly the limit when it comes to his numbers for his final high school season.

Academically, Roger carries a full course load of accelerated learning classes – effectively earning him a cumulative 3.2 grade point average.  He is aiming for a combined 1800 on his SAT’s, and as a result of his academic status – hopes to pursue an education in either liberal arts, or business administration at the college of his choice.

In his spare time, Roger enjoys reading, exercise, and practicing his Trumpet, which he has enjoyed playing since 5th grade, and also participates as a member of his high school’s band and orchestra.

Perhaps Roger’s most endearing quality is his dedication to the community – as a member of the Youth Mission Group for the Community Congregational Church, Roger has spend many of his breaks from school aiding the less fortunate.  During spring recess in 2007, Roger found himself building homes for the church in the beautiful eastern mountains of Puerto Rico.  One year later, he would spend his break in Los Angeles both feeding and giving aid to the homeless.

Roger is truly an amazing individual and incredible athlete, determined, disciplined, and unselfish in his pursuit of excellence on and off the field.  He would be a valuable asset to any educational body that would be willing to help further develop his mind and body in a truly challenging and informative environment.
