Wayne, NJ - Immaculate Heart Academy defeated Academy of Holy Angels during the New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) Girls Volleyball Tournament Non-Public Group Finals held at William Patterson University’s Recreational Center in Wayne New Jersey.

Ridgewood, NJ - Academy of Holy Angels defeated Ridgewood 3-1 in a girls high school varsity soccer game held at Maple Field Park. AHA’s #4 Freshmen Julie Heyboer scored a game high two goals, while senior as well as co-captain #17 Catherine Crimmins had one goal and #14 Sophomore Lauren Skae had an assist. Keeper and co-captain Liz best had 8 saves. For Ridgewood,sophomore #4 Samantha Cermak scored a goal with an assist from junior #7 Kelly Conheeney. Ridgewood’s senior keeper Laura Colvin had 3 saves.

The Star-Ledger announced the 2006-07 Winter Sports All-State: Girls Basketball players. Special congratulations to Mary Dunn of Morris Catholic and Tayler Wejnert of Holy Angels, who we photographed in action during the Morris and Bergen County Basketball tournaments, respectively, this past season. Also, special shout out to Allie Zazzali of Scotch Plains-Fanwood for being named the Union County Player of the year. A special shoutt out to Tayler Wejnert, who is also Gatorade’s Girls Basketball PLayer of the Year for New Jersey. Good luck to you all in college!
