Elaine Welch was the high scorer for Kent Place School by finding the back of the net 5 times during the game despite a yellow card that took her out of play for a few crucial minutes. Team mates Georgia Bird and Sophia Gouraige each had 3 goals, while Lauren Ortner, Kate Sheridan and Cassie Speno each had one goal each. For the Royals, Michelle Cesan and Star Ledger Player of the Week Ilyssa McIntyre had 5 goals each, while Katherine Caufield, Kelly McCabe, Kelsey Merghart, Julie O’Neal and Kate Rooney scored once each.

Moorestown @ Oak Knoll Girls Lacrosse
Chatham, NJ; Monday April 7, 2008. Oak Knoll’s Left Attack Wing and Yale-bound Kelsey Merghart (22), who is flanked by team mate Rebekah Gibson (18), runs up field as she is chased by Moorestown’s sophomore Loren Pruit (41) during the second half of the Moorestown @ Oak Knoll girl’s varsity lacrosse game. Despite the best efforts of everyone on the Oak Knoll team and a strong second half surge, the Royals fell 16-8 to perennial powerhouse and nationally ranked Moorestown, which has been the State champion over the last eight consecutive years.

April 1, 2008 Summit, NJ USA; The Oak Knoll Royals earned 16-10 victory against its crosstown rivals during a girls high school varsity lacrosse game held at Kent Place School’s Pat Conley Field. For the Royals, Alyssa McIntyre, Bridget Nolan, Michelle Cesan and Julie Onieal each contributed three goals, while Elaine Welch and Kate Sheridan scored 4 and two goals, respectively for the Dragons.

Oak Knoll @ Kent Place Basketball
Summit, NJ - The Oak Knoll Royals defeated the Kent Place Dragons 36-22 during a girsl high school varsity basketball game held last night. Kerry Kennedy and Erin Kelly had 10 and nine points, respectively, for the Royals, while Catie Mota, Kate Thiemer, Catherine Verdic had six, four and three points each. Molly Moran and Laura Zito each had two as well. For the Dragons, Erin McDonnell was the leading scorer with 10 points followed by Marissa Guthrie with six. Danielle Graddick, Kristen Olwell and Liz Schoenbach also had two a piece for the Dragons.

NJISSA Prep Cross Country Championship
October 31, 2007-Blairstown, NJ – Blair Academy was the site of this years NJ State Prep Cross Country Championships. Under beautiful Halloween skies seventeen schools competed on the new flatter Blair course. The favorites from both boys and girls divisions did not disappoint as they placed as expected. The best race of the day was the sprint to the finish for third place in the Division A boys event when Jorge Marques, St. Benedict’s, 17:45.5. just edged Jarrett Kunze, Peddie, 17:45.8 at the line.
