14 July 2008, New Egypt, NJ: Lax For The Cure was the initial concept of Jessica Shoulberg, Mendham High School Coach, Director of STEPS Lacrosse and Director of the Lax By The Sea tournament. During the summer of 2007 The STEPS Lacrosse club had 3 mothers fighting breast cancer. Jessica’s concept came from the notion that with the growth of girls lacrosse and summer tournament circuit, that an opportunity presented itself to start a tournament that would meet the ideals of players, parents, clubs, and college coaches. The goal was to ultimately find a way to raise funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer.
Here is a video clip from one of the games from the tournament that was done by our videographers on behalf of F8 Images.
