NJSYFL Super Bowl Championships

Scotch Plains, NJ November 23, 2008: The NJ Suburban Youth Football League (NJSYFL) was formed in an effort to provide additional opportunities for boys to participate in contact football.  The goal of the NJSYFL is to provide the largest number of pre-high school aged youth with a positive experience in the game of football.  Since its inception on December 8th, 1972 in Scotch Plains, NJ, the NJSYFL has grown to provide 4500 boys and girls the opportunity to to participate in youth football and cheerleader programs.

NJSYFL held their Super Bowl Championships over the weekend. The results are as follows:

All-Star Game : South 19, North 6… C Division : Summit 13, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 12… A Division : Springfield 34, Richmond Boro 6… B Division : Belleville 7, Parsippany 6

Cranford @ Kent Place Field Hockey

Summit, NJ, USA; 24 October 2008 Friday:  Cranford High School @ Kent Place Girls Varsity Field Hockey.  Pauline Eichler’s free hit was deflected into the goal by team mate Ali Guida late in the second half to help the Kent Place Dragons defeat the Cranford Cougars 1-0.  Emily Johnson made eight saves for Kent Place to shutout Cranford, while Sara Carolan made 17 saves for the Cougars.

13 October 2008 Monday:  Summit, NJ, USA; Morristown-Beard @ Kent Place Girls Varsity Field Hockey played at Pat Conley Field.  The game ended in a 2-2 tie.

Chatham, NJ Thursday 25 September 2008: Summit (5-0) defeated Chatham (3-3) 2-1 in a girls varsity field hockey game played at Haas Field.


Gill St. Bernard’s @ Kent Place Soccer

Summit, NJ, Wednesday 24 September 2008: Christina Doherty (#10) and Amanda Rhodes (#10) of Kent Place School each scored near the end of the game, while goalkeeper Alisson Beeman blocked four shots to shut out the Lady Knights of Gill St. Bernard’s 2-0 in a girls varsity soccer game.

Summit, NJ; Saturday, May 17, 2008; Summit High School versus Kent Place during the Union County Tournament Lacrosse Final played at Pat Conley Field. The Kent Place Dragons defeated the Summit Hilltoppers 13-10.
